About This Pilgrim

Hello there! I’m the author of A.P.P, Josiah Rai, just one of the many pondering pilgrims on this voyage we call life. I love reading books on theology, listening to sermons and writing about God. What inspired me to create this blog? Who are my greatest influences? Read on to know more about me!

Only one life, ’twill soon be past,

Only what’s done for Christ will last.

The Origin

You’ve probably guessed by now, but the idea of creating this blog came after reading the Pilgrim’s Progress for a book presentation at school. I was 16 when I finally began reading this great classic and a few months later this website was born.

The Passion

I was born in a Christian home, but it was only till I was 14 that I wanted to genuinely know God and not merely know about Him. I started listening to more sermons, reading more theology and learning more about the reformed faith. Some of my greatest influences are Paul Washer (not to mention his “Shocking Youth Sermon”), John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, Steve Lawson, Joel Beeke, Martin Lloyd Jones, Charles Spurgeon and so many more!

The Goal

The goal of this blog is not to gain a large following and to please every reader, but to be grounded in the word of God, the unchanging truth and the glorious gospel. I aim to write uncompromisingly, boldly and insightfully for the glory of God. Hence the tagline, Soli Deo Gloria (a Latin term for Glory to God alone).

I hope you will be blessed, encouraged and refreshed by reading the posts on this blog. Let’s all strive to run in this difficult yet rewarding race, to fight in this gruesome yet honourable battle and persist in our arduous yet fulfilling pilgrimage of life till we are finally victorious through God, by God and for God.

Ponder the path of thy feet,

and let all thy ways be established.
